Wilson is a partner of Zhong Lun Law Firm based in the firm’s Beijing headquarters. He received his LL.B. degree from the University of International Business & Economics in Beijing in 1994 and an LL. M. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in the United States in 2001. He was licensed to practice in the PRC in 1998. Prior to joining Zhong Lun as a partner, Wilson worked in prestigious PRC and American law firms as senior associate for a number of years. He is fluent in using English as working language. His practice focus includes FDI, M&A, trust financing and banking matters, and cross-border arbitration and commercial litigation. Wilson is an arbitrator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), an arbitrator of the International Dispute Resolution Center (ICDR) of American Arbitration Association (AAA), and an arbitrator of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA). Banking and Finance:
◆ Advising a leading American bank on its issuance of commercial mortgage-backed loans and securities amounting to USD 500m with properties located in nine cities mortgaged and registered in Mainland China(this deal was awarded as the Securitization Deal of the Year 2006 by EUROMONEY and International Financial Law Review)
◆ Representing a large European bank in an aircraft after-sale leasing deal and issuing legal opinion; leading the team to conduct aircraft ownership registration for more than 50 aircrafts, and releasing certain aircrafts from court procedures for attachment and enforcement initiated due to the borrower’s incapacity to pay overdue debts
◆ Advising several foreign-funded banks in trade finance matters and issuing legal opinions
◆ As the issuer’s attorney advising the first issuance in the mainland China of the bank bonds issued by foreign-funded bank

Dispute Resolution:
◆ Representing a major US pump manufacturer in an arbitration before China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC); formulating the strategies for reconciliation and arbitration; traveling to Tianjin port for an on-site investigation; coordinating the client, the import agent, the broker, the manufacturer and the end-user for reconciliation; reviewing the qualification of the proposed expert witnesses and making selection and recommendation; and drafting and amending the arbitration response;representing numerous foreign clients in CIETAC arbitration cases from initial investigation, document collection, application/response, panel hearing to award rendering or even the enforcement of the award
◆ Representing a French company on arbitration case before the Arbitration Court of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and settled the case through reconciliation
◆ Advising a company registered in Hong Kong SAR in negotiation with the world largest semiconductor and solar system equipments manufacturer for matters after the termination of the distribution agreement; preparing for the potential litigation in the PRC and arbitration before Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry; eventually reached settlement agreement with the counterparty after over one year and four months of negotiation
◆ Advising a holding company registered in Hong Kong SAR in negotiation with a 500s company manufacturing petroleum equipments in the USA; representing the client in the arbitration process taken before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) of American Arbitration Association (AAA); after the counterparty raised the proposal to mediate, eventually reached settlement agreement with payment of roughly USD2.5M to the client
◆ Representing a comprehensive PRC trading company in the arbitration process before Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC) concerning an international goods sale dispute
◆ Representing an American network connectivity equipment manufacturer’s WFOE in China as defense lawyer in the labor arbitration and the litigation proceedings instituted by one of its high ranking officers; raising the suggestion of starting the defense from the objection to the jurisdiction and other procedural matters instead of replying substantively; and obtaining a satisfactory outcome through the labor arbitration and the first trial
