Mr. Niu has advised many international and domestic companies, banks, and shipyards in dealing with their legal issues as to corporation, finance, real estate, maritime, ship building/sale/financing, bankrupt, arbitration and litigation. Mr. Niu is also retained as the legal advisor of many large companies, and he has advised them in various litigant or non-litigant affairs. Mr. Niu particularly specializes in dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, litigation and arbitration to settle the civil and commercial disputes arising out of international trade, FDI, intellectual property, construction, real estate, M&A, maritime matters, insurance, labor, etc.
Mr. Niu has extensive experience both in litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients conducting lawsuit in the Supreme People’s Court, higher courts, intermediate courts, courts of first instances and maritime courts in PRC, and conducting arbitration in Hong Kong, London as well as some domestic arbitration organizations including China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), Beijing Arbitration Commission and Shanghai Arbitration Commission.
In addition, Mr. Niu is the arbitrator of CIETAC, CMAC and HKIAC, and has been appointed as the presiding arbitrators/sole arbitrators/co-arbitrators in nearly 100 arbitration cases, including some international arbitration cases in Hong Kong and London.
